THE BOOK

This book tells the story of the life and death of Swami Nischalananda – a monk whom his trusted disciple betrayed. It is a very human and multi-textured portrait of the Swami, tracing his early childhood, his travels in India, as well as his impressive soul-stirring religious and charitable work in South Africa.

The book has been written from a position of personal experience and was inspired by my cherished and long-standing association with the Swami himself and the desire to put into perspective speculation that maligned his image, traumatized disciples, and fractured the development of social welfare programs.
